Carrboro's Creeks

From Vision 2020

5.22 Carrboro should adopt a strategy and set of policies to protect all of our creeks, streams, ponds, and lakes.

The Town and the community have been involved in initiatives for many years to help monitor, protect and restore local creeks. The primary regulatory tool the Town employs to protect creeks and streamside environments  from new development is the Land Use Ordinance.  Watershed restoration efforts require non-regulatory approaches to treat stormwater from existing development, improve stream buffers, and repair creek channels. Visit these pages and links to learn more about these efforts.
